Eavor’s contract with US Air Force is “enabling energy independence” by using “Holy Grail” technology

The Defense Post and RechargeNews recently posted articles about Eavor’s contract with the US Air Force to supply clean energy to the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) in Texas.

Eavor’s innovative Geoenergy solution is being platformed as a game-changer, with the Defense Post article emphasizing how it is “enabling energy independence.” Furthermore, RechargeNews dubs it “Holy Grail” technology for harnessing nearly boundless energy from the Earth’s core.

As the articles state, a feasibility study funded by the Department of Defense is set to begin following the contract award, which will assess the resource potential for Eavor-Loop™ technology to provide clean power for the US Air Force’s energy needs.

The Air Force Office of Energy Assurance, a branch of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, is set to oversee all stages of operations. The primary objective of this prototype is to enhance the resilience of defense infrastructure and ensure a consistent supply of clean energy, regardless of disruptions to the electrical grid.

Moreover, Eavor is partnering with Chesapeake Energy, a US exploration and production company, who will provide essential technical and operational expertise to ensure the project’s success. Both Eavor’s and Chesapeake’s teams have expressed their enthusiasm in solidifying this new partnership.

“For this exploratory project, we can think of no more qualified partner than Chesapeake. We are looking forward to collaborating on any additional such projects in the future,” says Eavor Project Development Manager Matt Seager in a recent press release.

“Chesapeake is uniquely suited for subsurface engineering, surface regulatory and impact mitigation and geologic resource characterization. We are excited to have an opportunity to leverage this adjacent set of expertise, furthering our mission toward a more secure, reliable, lower carbon energy future,” said Chesapeake Energy President and Chief Executive Officer Nick Dell’Osso.

This partnership is poised to mark a significant step towards advancing sustainable energy solutions for the US Air Force and beyond, securing energy autonomy and serving as a model for the broader adoption of clean and reliable energy sources in the defense sector.
