Multiple media platforms and esteemed experts have been covering the inauguration of Eavor’s first commercial Eavor-Loop™, which amplified the technology’s game-changing method of producing clean energy.
In a video news report from münchen.tv, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder, and President of Eavor GmbH Daniel Mölk were featured being interviewed by local media and making speeches at the event. Additionally, DW Español published a news report that featured the inauguration, titled: “Could geothermal energy solve Germany’s energy crisis?”
The Embassy of Germany to Canada commented that Eavor-Loop™ is a “groundbreaking new system.” Furthermore, the post commented: “Through these competitive advantages, the Eavor-Loop™ has the potential to set a new standard for sustainable geothermal energy generation– in Germany, Europe and worldwide.”
Over 80 percent of Germany’s total geothermal production originates from Bavaria, and Söder said that the state has set a target to achieve climate neutrality by 2040. Germany aspires to encompass 25 percent of its heat requirements from those geothermal sources by 2050.
The inauguration of Eavor’s first commercial power plant in Geretsried witnessed an announcement by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He outlined plans to amplify the deployment of geothermal plants by tenfold, citing geothermal energy as an ‘evident solution’ in the fight against climate change. The proposed endeavor aims to establish a stable, affordable stream of renewable energy, which Scholz said will be a pivotal advantage for both the populace and the economy.
Additionally, Scholz was quoted as saying that amplifying this energy has potential to assist Germany in bringing it closer to its climate goals. As Eavor provides energy without access to hot water, Eavor-Loop™ technology was emphasized for its potential to propel Germany’s heat transition away from fossil fuels.
The power plant in Geretsried is not only projected to produce energy autonomy and create jobs in Bavaria, but according to Minister of Environment and Protected Areas Rebecca Schulz, the expansion of Geoenergy holds promise in creating jobs in Alberta as well.
As Eavor commercialization continues its projects in Europe, it begs the reminder that the company has become a prime example of an Alberta-born success story that is poised to provide clean, emissions-free, reliable energy to the world.
